Camp Lucy Wedding | Dustin & Sarah

Dustin and Sarah’s Camp Lucy wedding was the perfect mix of black-tie elegance and heartfelt celebration! Set among the beautiful spring greenery and the stone architecture of this iconic Dripping Springs venue, their day was filled with meaningful moments and one unforgettable dance floor.

As their Austin wedding photographer, it was an honor to document a wedding that reflected not only their style, but also the deep love and commitment that brought them to this special day. Plus, Camp Lucy is one of my all-time favorite unique wedding venues near Austin, so I’m always thrilled for a chance to return to this stunning property!

Getting Ready for a Black-Tie Celebration

The day began with excitement building as family and friends gathered to celebrate Dustin and Sarah. Spring had fully arrived in the Texas Hill Country, bringing warm weather, lush greenery, and blooming flowers that created a beautiful backdrop for the day.

Sarah looked stunning in a white lace wedding gown that perfectly matched the formal atmosphere she envisioned. Dustin wore a classic black tuxedo, while the bridesmaids and groomsmen all wore black attire, creating a clean and sophisticated look from start to finish.

Before the ceremony, Dustin and Sarah came together for an emotional first look inside Ian’s Chapel.

I appreciated that Sarah had such a strong vision for her wedding day! She loved the timeless look of black and white and even requested many of her images be edited in black and white. Every detail reflected the elegant, formal aesthetic she dreamed of.

Camp Lucy Wedding Ceremony

For their wedding ceremony, Dustin and Sarah chose the beautiful outdoor pavilion that boasts some of the best Texas Hill Country views around. We were blessed with blue skies and the whole space just felt so romantic and refined. As a photographer, I especially love this ceremony location because the iconic stone arch really defines the whole space.

Surrounded by the people who mattered most, Dustin and Sarah exchanged vows and officially began their next chapter together. The atmosphere was filled with emotion, excitement, and anticipation as guests watched their love story unfold.

After the ceremony, Dustin, Sarah, and I walked the grounds of Camp Lucy for portraits. The venue’s beautiful grounds, mature trees, and spring landscaping offered countless opportunities!

One of the reasons Sarah connected with my work was my editing style. She mentioned liking the way I capture genuine moments, so my focus was to create images that felt authentic to who they are while while preserving the timeless black-tie atmosphere they worked so hard to create.

I also loved getting some sweet shots with their two girls!

Camp Lucy Wedding Reception

The reception design carried the same sophisticated aesthetic throughout the evening. Long reception tables were beautifully styled with candles, creating a romantic glow that filled the room as the sun set.

As dinner and toasts concluded, the celebration moved inside of Ian’s Chapel where the party really took off as guests made way to the dance floor.

But first, Sarah’s father had one more special toast for the day! During a heartfelt speech, he shared the story of Sarah’s childhood swimming career and brought out several second-place ribbons she had earned over the years. Rather than focusing on the losses, he used them to illustrate her determination and drive to keep striving for first place.

He then handed those ribbons to Dustin, symbolically passing the responsibility of supporting and encouraging Sarah to her husband. It was a powerful moment that left many guests emotional and perfectly captured the deep bond within their family.

While the entire day was beautiful, my favorite moment happened once the dancing started.

After an emotional and elegant day, Dustin and Sarah finally had the chance to relax and celebrate with the people they love most. I just loved getting to see them let their hair down and close the day on such a sweet note. The dance floor quickly filled with family and friends, and the rest was history!

There was so much joy, laughter, and excitement in the room. Watching them let loose and enjoy the celebration they had worked so hard to create was the perfect ending to an incredible day.

Dustin and Sarah later shared:

From the moment we booked Photography By Estefana, we knew we’d made the right choice. Estefana communicated with us quickly and kindly throughout the entire planning process, answering questions and making sure we felt prepared for our big day. On the wedding day itself, she made the whole photo-taking experience fun and relaxed, which helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Her creative eye and professional approach resulted in pictures that are absolutely beautiful and capture the real moments of our celebration. We couldn’t be happier with how our photos turned out, and we’d recommend Estefana to any couple looking for a photographer who truly cares about her clients.

Kind words like these mean the world to me, and it was such a privilege to document their Camp Lucy wedding day!
