What Was My First Camera | Texas Hill Country Portrait Photographer
My story started back when I was just a little girl. Honestly, I don't even remember how old I was? But I DO remember when I got my first camera! It was a birthday gift for me before my beach trip with the family. It was actually a double pack. It had both a Barbie film camera & a little binocular set. It was the coolest thing ever! I took it everywhere with me.
When I went on my beach trip to Port Aransas, Texas with my family, I had my mom buy me a roll of film. Being the kid I was, I always took photos of things that made no sense. Such as, taking pictures of the tv show I was watching. Why? NO IDEA. But I thought it was cool so why not right? LAME.
Though, the very first picture I took was when I was on vacation. My grandma, (dad's mom), was looking at the beach waves while my other grandma, (my mom's mom), was picking up shells. At the time, I didn't know how important this photo would become until my grandma passed away.
I love looking at this picture because it shows her in a happy place. I like to think of it like how she is right now, enjoying paradise.
To all reading this short blog post, I encourage you to go back into your old film collection and see what you can find. You might even find some memorable photos that you had no idea you had!
I know when I find an old roll, I can't wait to see what it develops. But then I immediately become disappointed because it's just more tv shots of Spongebob. NOT EVEN KIDDING!
